Inter-Active Autorouter (IRT)

The Inter-Active Autorouter Module automates the routing process of ball-grid array substrates and other tight PCBs. It contains powerful features to streamline the routing process of dense BGA, CSP, PCB and Hybrid / MCM designs.

Routing can be fully automatically or interactively with the designer specifying the routing order of each net. Enables a Plow option which pushes traces and vias aside while you are placing a new route.

Key Features:

  • Powerful, flexible pushing of multiple traces while maintaining clearances

  • Automatic cleanup of routing to reduce unnecessary bends and segments

  • Slide vias while dragging traces with them and maintain complex, multi-level design rules

  • Powerful autorouter streamlines the routing process of dense BGA, CSP, PCB and Hybrid/MCM designs with CDS’s exclusive autorouting technology.

  • Angle point-to-point routing is completed quickly and automatically, shortening design cycle time.

  • Autofix moves, cleans and optimizes routed traces while maintaining trace-to-trace and trace-to-pad clearances.

  • Large numbers of traces and vias can be pushed simultaneously, with a single command, on any layer and traces, at any angle or at mismatched angles.

  • All possible via locations inside a BGA pattern are displayed on ViaGrid

Push and Shove Tool for cleanup of Routes:

  • See 3 Push and Shove Video Demos below below

  • Moves vias and traces on any layer when pushing with a trace or a via.

  • Maintains separate clearance rules on each layer while pushing.

  • Automatically deletes unnecessary vertices.

  • Acts like a billiard table allowing maximum spread of the objects being pushed.

  • A spread mode is available to smoothly distribute parallel routes.
