CAD Design Software (CDS),
a leader in Electronic
Design Automation (EDA)
software solutions, today
announces a new version 8.3
and releases 4 (four) new
Electronics Packaging
Designer (EPD) suites and 2
(two) Independent Conversion
programs called ACAM and
BWX; all powered by AutoCAD
2019 OEM for use with
Windows®.
CAD Design Software release
v8.3 also includes new
releases for the
EPD Standard Suites,
EPD Master Suites and
GerbARX plug-in products
for use with AutoCAD
2018-2021, 64 bit platforms
only.
For last 20 years, CAD
Design Software has been a
registered 3rd
party developer for Autodesk
and sold its EPD Design
Suites and Gerber Conversion
products solely for use as a
plugin for AutoCAD. In 2019,
CAD Design Software signs a
contract with TechSoft 3D to
develop the EPD core
software in the 2019 OEM
stand-alone graphics engine
for use with Windows. Now
the new release of EPD for
Windows v8.3 Design Suites
and Independent Stand Alone
v8.3 software products are
all powered by AutoCAD 2019
OEM. These offering now
expand to more designers
that would benefit from the
Design and Import / Export
features in the EPD
platform.
The OEM contains a set of
standard design and drafting
tools that will be similar
to AutoCAD tools and are
made for use with the design
of layouts for the purpose
in which the drafting tools
are intended when purchased
from CAD Design Software
(e.g. design and layout
tools for technologies such
as PCBs, Ceramics, IC
Packaging, Gerber export,
etc.).
The AutoCAD 2019 OEM
platform and graphics engine
provide designers a more
powerful and CAD-agnostic
solution!
EPD for Windows v8.3 Design Suites:
EPD Professional Suite for
Windows
is the most complete
solution to address the EDA
design process and
incorporates many tools for
ease of processing thick
film ceramic designs, such
as an enhanced dynamic masks
generator, panel generation,
ODB++ output, and bond wire
data export to support
bondwire machines. These
tools, in addition to
nibbler data for removing
cavity material in bulk or
in steps, control of the
Gerber, hole, and punch data
for correct output to
manufacturing, are
beneficial for low and high
temperature co-fired ceramic
designs.
EPD Standard Suite for
Windows
is a step up from the EPD
Basic Suite with the
addition of Hybrid / MCM
tools. As with all suites,
it enables the
creation of prototypes by
allowing designers to skip
the schematic process and
build their prototype
directly as a board design.
This gives designers the
freedom to create a layout,
test it and if it works,
then hand it off to a team
to generate a schematic.
EPD Basic Suite for Windows
is a design solution for
PCB, RF, and Flex with
bi-directional Gerber
translator, GDS translator,
and includes schematic
capture as well as 3D,
advanced routing, automatic
documentation, and the
module of commands that
allow designers to clean up
the file in order to achieve
the desired final result.
EPD Starter Suite for
Windows
is a design solution for
simple PCB designs that
require only light design
rule checking (DRC) with
Gerber output. Schematic
capture is included for
electrical checking. Also
included is a set of
commands that allow
designers to clean up the
file in order to achieve the
desired final result.
