High Speed (HSP)

The High Speed utility module makes electrical calculations based on information in the EPD layout for each net or from the schematic database, which can be sent seamlessly into an autorouter.


Key Features:

  • Resistance, Inductance, Capacitance and Delay on each net

  • Set electrical rules in Auto Schematic Capture layout and the physical layout will read information set.

  • Voltage drop of each branch of a power net - taking the temperature of each conductive layer into account. 

  • Send data seamlessly into the Cadence Allegro Autorouter

  • Generates board cross sections for fabrication drawings.

  • Control substrate, conductor and mask material types and thicknesses.

  • Line width for a specific impedance of symmetrical or asymmetrical micro-strip.

  • Resistance Parasitic Capacitance and Inductance of a net.

  • Sums all level thicknesses to get total board thickness.

  • Writes out configurable detailed electrical reports on all nets.

Now you can set all high-speed rules in the schematic database, write the netlist, send to physical layout, set or reset in and send seamlessly into the autorouter. Rules set by the engineer in the schematic will automatically drive send to intelligent EPD physical design layout. Including; maximum crosstalk, maximum length, minimum length, maximum parallel length, maximum stub length, Starburst, Daisychain and Width.

The following calculations can be made:

  • Voltage drop of each branch of a power net - taking the temperature of each conductive layer into account.

  • Line width for a specific impedance of micro-strip

  • Line width for a specific impedance of symmetrical or asymmetrical strip line

  • Resistance of a net

  • Inductance of a net

  • Parasitic capacitance of a net

  • Delay on a net - taking propagation speed of different layers and via distance into account
